Blog Where’d Everybody Go? A Pup’s Guide to Surviving Back-to-School

One day, the house was full of laughter, snacks, and belly rubs… and the next morning, poof! Everyone vanished. No tiny humans dropping crumbs. No surprise midday fetch. Just me, the couch, and the sound of the air conditioner. I think they call it back-to-school season.

So, what’s a dog to do? Well—plenty, actually.

Patrolling the Perimeter

First things first—check the yard. Squirrels? Present. Mail carrier? Approaching. Suspicious breeze? Investigated. It’s my job to keep the property safe, and I take it very seriously (most of the time).

The Art of Toy Management

You can’t just play with the squeaky chicken all day. I rotate between my rope toy, plush duck, and the occasional stolen sock. The key is to keep every toy guessing which one is the favorite.

Finding the Perfect Nap Spot

A sunny beam on the carpet. The couch cushion with the perfect head dip. Or, best of all, smack in the middle of the hallway so my human has to step over me when they get home. Location is everything.

The Big Realization

Then it hit me—why spend all day guarding the house and waiting for the door to open when I could be having the best day ever at Very Important Paws? My own version of school, but way more fun!

At VIP Doggie Daycare, my day is full of fetch in the play yard, splashing in the pool, running through tunnels, chasing bubbles, and lounging in sunny spots. There are treat breaks, cozy naps, and belly rubs from my favorite humans. I get to see my friends, join group play sessions, explore new toys, and enjoy plenty of exercise and mental games—while being loved on all day long. No boredom. No loneliness. Just pure tail-wagging happiness!
